Mont Orford

I am a big fan of Mont Orford. It boasts a vertical very close to that of Tremblant (1,932 feet).  Plus it has an extra two mountains as a bonus. Tremblant’s still bigger, but I like Mont Orford a lot.

Friendly staff. Modern lifts (even a hybrid gondola/chair). Challenging terrain. A Quebec ski vacation without the glitz and glamour of the big guys.

You won’t find slopeside accommodations, but the local inns and B&B’s are welcoming. Well worth checking out.

I was lucky enough to run into a local, Marc Jussaume, who showed me around. Specifically Mont Giroux, which I might have overlooked entirely, thinking it was reserved for instruction. Not at all—many excellent, high speed runs to enjoy. My thanks to Marc !
