Bariloche is actually a small city, and can serve as a base for a ski or snowboard vacation at the ski areas nearby, notably Cerro Catedral, the largest of the region.
Being a city of over 100,000 Bariloche offers restaurants and bars for any après-ski preference. As well as theaters, discos, even a casino. And countless accommodation options.
But you’re here for the skiing. And while Cerro Catedral has much to offer beginners, it’s really best suited for advanced and expert skiers, with over half of its 3,000 acres of terrain backcountry and off-piste. This isn’t groomer country.
Click in the red navigation bar above. You’ll find a selection of skier-point-of-view (POV) videos of Argentina ski runs, so you can try a few before you go.
Go ahead. Find your mountain.
Experts will especially enjoy the scenery and powder on the Stone of the Condor peak (Piedra del Condor) accessed by the new La Laguna chairlift. Chutes and wide open bowls, with the best snow—all above the treeline.
